Surprisingly
I never found myself gravitating towards the Benefit corner at Sephora, both because
most of the times this brand is out of my budget and I’ve never been a fan of
their super original packaging, that sometimes turns out to be just
uncomfortable to use.
What I
like about Benefit is that with those mini-sets gives you the chance to try
some of their products without necessarily invest a big budget on one product
only. What I don’t like is that inside the set there are all sample-size
products, is actually a thing that makes me anxious because when I buy a
product I like the idea that will last me quite a long time.
Let’s
cut out this useless introduction and let’s start talking about the SundayFunday
set (part of the Maggie collection) I’ve bought a while ago but whose product
are all available in the permanent collection.

Hoola.
I think
most hyped up contour powder I’ve ever seen. Has been blessed by Beauty blogger
and youtubers all over the world and is been sold as the Graal of contouring
and well, for me has been quite a disappointment. I admit I suck at contouring
but really I don’t get how girls a lot paler than me can find that this suits
them, since it looks like a medium-to-dark powder with an orange undertone.
Here there are two solutions: or you use such a little quantity of product that
you can’t really notice a difference on your face or you use a small-to-medium
quantity of product and you end up looking like a farmer that slipped in the field.
I’m not arguing on the quality of the powder because you can feel it’s amazing
just by touching it but I would not recommend it to someone who is pale.
In a
nutshell:
Pro:
great quality and pigmentation.
Con: it
doesn’t suit pale skin.

Benetint.
Now
let’s talk about the only product of the set I think I’m gonna purchase the
full size of when the sample ends. At the beginning I wasn’t really into the
liquid formula for cheeks/lips mostly because I thought that when it came to
blend on the cheeks it would have moved the mineral foundation underneath,
ending up in a really “modern painting” kinda look. It didn’t move anything at
all, with two little drops for cheek it created an uneven and healthy look, and
it didn’t happen with any other blush I’ve ever tried.
In a
nutshell:
Pro:
double use cheeks/lips, gives a natural and healthy look.
Con: It
dries up too quickly, so you have to blend it in as soon as you put it on your
skin.

Lip
shine in shimmering rose.
This is
another product I adored. It’s not something you absolutely need to have but I
must admit that the rose colour with golden glitter in it (that reminds me of Orgasm by NARS), the creamy consistency
which makes it hydrating and pleasant to put on the lips and the fact that it
doesn’t end in those little cracks on the lips makes you forget that you have
to reapply it after a hour and half because it will be completely gone.
In a
nutshell:
Pro:
comfortable on the lips, well pigmented and hydrating.
Con:
it’s not long lasting. Well, it doesn’t last at all.

Toasty
liner.
I was
utterly pleased to finally find a brown eyeliner into a set instead of the
classic black eyeliner, since I don’t use the second ones but for some reasons
I always end up having tons of them around the house. Even if the color
perfectly matches my tastes (it’s a warm toned brown), I didn’t have great
expectations about this because, since I have a really oily eyelids, I always
end up with the liner tattooed on my upper eyelid, and the toasty liner didn’t
made an exception. I don’t want to give
a bad review because I understand is a personal problem of mine and in the end
I managed to skip it by applying the liner and blending it until it almost
looked like and eyeshadow, used like this it didn’t cause me any sort of
problem.
In a
nutshell:
Pro:
intense colour that warms up the eye, easily blendable.
Con:
does not last on oily eyelids even with
primer underneath.

The
eyeshadows.
There
are four eyeshadows in the set: shimmering
bronze, pink satin, light champagne and pretty in plum, all highly
glittered. I love them all, even if I’m not used to wear something so
noticeable. As I touch them they feel so silky that most of the times I like to
apply them directly with my fingers and then define them with a brush. They are
highly pigmented and most of all easily blendable with each other. Plus I like
the choice of the colours since it lets you create two different kinds of
smokey eye that will go with every type or eye colour and/or skin tone (one
with light champagne and shimmering bronze and the other one with pink satin
and pretty in plum). On my eyes they last up to four hours without primer and
the whole day with one. In the end I can’t really find nothing bad to say about
these!
In a
nutshell:
Pro: a
good mix of colours, easily blendable and long lasting.
Con: (well,
this is a con for the set only): I would have appreciated one matte colour.
